New Years Eve Makeup And Resolutions

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for being gone for a while, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! It was a great one for sure. Santa Claus brought me the new Urban Decay Naked 3 palette in my stocking, it is gorgeous! I know it was a really popular gift this year(if you're a cosmetic junkie like myself!) so today I want to share a New Years Eve look with you all.

Lets get started!

List of products used:
-Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette(Nooner, Buzz, Liar, Strange, and Blackheart)
-MAC 224 Blending Brush(here's an alternate)
-Sigma E55 Shading Brush
-Sigma E30 Pencil Brush
-Sigma E25 Blending Brush
-Thin Angled Brush(here's an alternate)
-Sigma E05 Liner Brush
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-Benefit They're Real Mascara
-MAC Subculture Lip Liner
-MAC Resort Life Lip Gloss

Let's get started!

Apply the shade Nooner with a fluffy blending brush to the crease blending upward towards the brow bone.

Next pack on the shade Buzz with a Sigma E55 shading brush all over the lid.

Using a Sigma E30 pencil brush, apply Strange to the inner corner of the eye as well as the brow bone for highlight.

Take the shade Liar and a Sigma E25 blending brush and blend it in the crease towards the inner corner.

With that same blending brush, take some Blackheart and dab it in the outer part of the crease, then blend it well! This will give the eye more definition.

Now with a thin angled brush, use the shade Liar again to line the lower lash line.

With the same thin angled brush, use Blackheart and stamp it onto the outer third of the lower lash line.

Time for eyeliner and mascara! I used MAC Blacktrack Fluidline with a Sigma E05 liner brush and Benefit They're Real Mascara. You can use what ever kind of black eyeliner and mascara you prefer. I highly recommend using a pair of false lashes with this look, they will help your eyes pop even more!

*I definitely forgot to show what I used on my face, sorry! I just used some NARS Laguna bronzer on my cheeks for some color, no other blush. It's safe to assume if I ever forget to mention what I used on my face it's usually NARS Laguna 99% of the time!

Use which ever light pink lipstick or lip gloss that you love for this look. I used MAC Subculture lip liner to define my lips and topped it off with MAC Resort Life lip gloss. It's super sparkly, perfect for New Years Eve!

That's the finished look! What do you think?

Are you guys making any resolutions this year? Share em with me please! This year I want to learn some yoga to help my (non existent)flexibility. I already meditate a little bit so I figure yoga would be a nice compliment to that. I want to learn French but I'm not sure I will have time to, so I want to make it a goal to learn at least 50 French words this year; it's just such a lovely language and I dream about going to Paris one day. Something else I'm going to try my hardest to do is to get at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise in 5 days a week. I already do this about 3-4 times a week but I need to challenge myself more; especially since I have a huge goal I'd like to accomplish by my birthday in July(not quite sharing what that is yet!). OH and my *biggest* resolution is to post here at least 3 times a week, the bare minimum 2 times a week. No more slacking! I want this blog to be a huge part of my life and I would love for you all to come on this journey with me. So that being said, it would be so helpful and appreciated if you could leave me suggestions in the comments below on what you'd like to see on here! More makeup tutorials? Recipes? Personal stuff? Please let me know!

As always I am so grateful that you took the time out of your day to read my blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I wish you all a happy, healthy, and  abundant new year from the bottom of my heart!

KISS Gradation Polishes Review & Demo

Hey everyone! How are you all today? I'm freezing! It's another snowy day here on Long Island. It's very lovely.

Today I want to share a review of the KISS Gradation nail polishes. Before I go on I want let you all know that I received these in a complimentary package from Influenster. I do not have any obligations to write a blog post about this product but I wanted to because I genuinely liked it and I think some of you would be interested in it too. If you were wondering, Influenster is a free-to-join website where people can share opinions on products that they like. There are also opportunities to take surveys to qualify to receive what Influenster calls "VoxBoxes" where members receive complimentary products to test and review. In exchange, Influenster asks that you share your opinions with friends & followers on social media. If you'd like I can send you an invite via email to join the site, just leave your email in the comments below if you're comfortable with that! Again I didn't HAVE to write a whole blog post on this product, I could have just wrote a quick tweet about it but I liked the product so I wanted to share in a bit more detail!

I love painting my nails. If you know me personally you know that I'm basically a nail polish hoarder so I was really excited and grateful to receive these. I am not even good at painting my nails but I still love doing it every week. No professional manicures for me! My toes on the other hand need professional help LOL but that's another story.

This is a nice little product, especially if you're into trendy nail looks. The purpose of this nail polish trio is to give the nails an ombre effect that is pretty trendy right now. If you didn't know, "ombre" is a dark to light look; it's also quite trendy with hair color right now. I like to stick with ombre look for nails since it's less permanent though ;)

This product is about $7 and you can find them at Walmart. It comes with 3 different nail polishes; a light pearly gold polish(step 1), a metallic gold polish(step 2), and a gold glitter polish(step 3). There are clear instructions on the back of the package on how to achieve the desired nail look as well.

First apply two coats of the step 1 light gold polish on the whole nail. Let it dry.

Next apply one coat if the step 2 metallic gold polish on the tip of the nail only. Obviously I can't follow directions and kind of applied it on half of the nail.

Now before the step 2 polish dries, apply the step 3 gold glitter on the top half of the nail to blend the two gold polishes. Let it dry completely.

Here's the finished nail look!

I love this polish, I think it's really festive for the holidays! I totally recommend it, especially if you're NOT someone like me who owns a ton of nail polish(I could have probably achieved this look using what I own because I have a hoarding problem). I really loved the smooth consistency of the formula of the polishes too. This made everything that much easier. I plan on using just the step 1 light pearly gold polish on it's own, it's such a pretty color.

What do you guys think? Did you like this review? Should I do more reviews in the future? I think yes.

Thanks for stopping by today! I really appreciate it :)

xo, Michelle

Yes I've decided to use my actual name from now on! I quite like it. No more hiding! <3

My Favorite Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe

It's Friday the 13th! Spooky. But not really. How are you all doing today? Got any fun plans for the weekend? I feel like I should make homemade cookies or something, these last couple of weeks before Christmas just seem to be flying by.

Today I want to share an easy recipe for my favorite hot chocolate. It's easy, but it isn't particularly a super quick recipe. Quick enough for me though! I hope you'll try it out.

This recipe makes enough to fill 4 tall mugs or 6 small mugs.

-1/2 cup sugar
-1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
-1/3 cup water
-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-4 cups milk
-Reddi Wip to your liking, or you could use marshmallow creme, whichever

In a medium pot, heat sugar, cocoa, water, cinnamon and nutmeg over low heat, whisking constantly, until mixture is smooth. Heat to boiling then reduce heat to simmer. Simmer 4 minutes, stirring constantly.

whisk in milk and heat over low heat. Once it's all heated through it's ready to be served. Make sure you leave enough room in the mug for your topping!

Top each serving with Reddi Wip or marshmallow creme. I sprinkled some cinnamon on top to make it look fancy! I'm sure it would be yummy if you topped it with crushed candy cane pieces as well. You can top it with whatever you'd like really. Caramel would probably be delicious too!

Isn't my new Elsa mug so precious? I love it! My Disney mug hoard is out of control. But I'll share that another time :)

If you try this recipe out let me know in the comments below! I love hearing from you all.

Thank you so much for reading my blog today. I love you!

Easy Christmas Ornament Magnets DIY

Hey everyone! I feel like it's been forever since I last posted(it kinda has been hasn't it? I'm sorry!). It's snowing here on Long Island today, the first "real" snow of the year. It's so beautiful! So I decided to put on my Christmas tree, make myself a mug of ginger tea, and write up this post!

Pretty snow!

Today I want to share a ridiculously easy craft that you can do that can contribute to your fun Christmas decor.

Basically it is just a ball ornament with a magnet glued on to it. SO easy!

You're going to need:

-Shatter proof ball ornaments(the ornaments I have to use are glass but DO NOT use glass! I'm only using these because I got this pack of 15 ornaments for $2 at a thrift store and also there are no little ones living here, so there's less chance for disaster lol)

-Small magnets(I'm using Aleene's tacky magnetic adhesive dots but the adhesive isn't strong enough to stick to the ornament, it also doesn't stick on flush to the ornament so if you buy these you're going to need to use glue anyway) You can find plain magnets at Michael's craft stores.

-Craft glue
-Something to store your ornaments in while the glue dries, like an empty egg carton. My ornaments came with plastic thingies to store them in.

Take a magnet and place some glue in the middle of it.

Stick the magnet where ever you'd like on your ball ornament.

Place the ornament magnet side up in whatever you're using to hold the ornaments on while the glue dries. You may notice that the magnet might start to shift away from where you placed it. If this happens just move it back into place, as the glue starts to dry it gets a bit tackier and will hold the magnet. It shouldn't shift again after you do this once. Now let the glue set for at least 6 hours to be safe.

Ta da!

I decided to stick these on our refrigerator to make it more festive. You can stick these on whatever magnetic surface you want!

Do you think you'll try this craft out? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog today! You are awesome.

Disney's Frozen Elsa Inspired Makeup Tutorial And Nail Polish Picks

First and foremost before I get started I want to wish a happy birthday to Walt Disney, without his original creation I wouldn't be doing this tutorial today! He is one of my huge inspirations, so much joy has been brought to this world because of him. So, Happy Birthday Walt!

Second, if you haven't seen the movie Frozen...go. NOW. I'm not kidding. Stop what you're doing right this second, stop reading this post even and go see it! I'm not posting any spoilers but this movie was incredible and so funny. I need to go see it again actually because I don't think I can hold out until it comes out on blu-ray. As soon as I got home from seeing it I just had to download the soundtrack, the music and songs to this movie are amazing. I've been listening non-stop which says a lot because it's Christmas time and I'm obsessed with Christmas music and I'm not even listening to Christmas music on the radio 24/7 like I do every year. So go see it!

Today's makeup tutorial and nail polish is inspired by Elsa, Queen of Arendelle. Elsa possesses magical powers that allow her to make snow, ice, and all that cold weather goodness. She is just GORGEOUS and is definitely my favorite character in this movie. Unlike most Disney female characters, you can tell that she is actually wearing some makeup on her eyes. I wanted to recreate her look and share it with you all today.

The products I'm using are:
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Lavender
-MAC Eyeshadow in Beautiful Iris
-MAC Eyeshadow in Creme De Violet
-MAC Eyeshadow in Satellite Dreams
-MAC EyeShadow in White Frost
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating
-Benefit "They're Real" Mascara
-MAC Mineralize Blush in Gleeful
-MAC lipstick in Plumful
-Sigma E55 Brush
-Sigma E25 Brush
-Sigma E30 Brush
-A Thin Angled Brush(or you can use a Sigma E20)
-Sigma E05 Brush
-MAC 187 Brush(or you can use a Sigma F50)

Let's get started!

Apply NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in lavender all over the lid, blending it out toward the crease with your finger. Also apply some in the inner corner/tear duct area.

Dip a Sigma E55 eye shading brush, back and forth between MAC Beautiful Iris and Creme De Violet eyeshadows, packing that mixed color on to the lid.

Using a Sigma E25 blending brush, use MAC Satellite Dreams eyeshadow and blend that well in the crease using windshield wiper motions.

Take a thin angled brush and MAC Satellite Dreams again and apply that to the lower lash line.

Now using a Sigma E30 pencil brush, apply MAC White Frost eyeshadow just below the brow and in the inner corner/tear duct area.

Eyeshadow is done! Next line the upper lash line with MAC Blacktrack fluidline using a Sigma E05 liner brush. Also line the waterline with MAC Fascinating eye kohl; the white eyeliner in the waterline will help make your eyes look bright and big like Elsa's.

Curl your lashes and apply some black mascara. I love Benefit's They're Real mascara.

That's it for it eyes, now to get a rosy glow on your face like Elsa has, use MAC Gleeful mineralize blush on the apples of your cheeks with a MAC 187 duo fiber brush. Using a brush like this will make sure just the right amount of color is applied to the cheeks, you don't want crazy red cheeks! Also NO bronzer for this look, people! Elsa is very pale, she's an ice queen!

Elsa has what looks like berry stained lips, to get that look I used MAC lipstick in Plumful. It's a lovely plummy, berry like color.

And that's the completed makeup look!

Today I was inspired to paint my nails blue and use some sparkle thanks to the lovely Queen Elsa as well.

I used OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, and Essie Bobbing For Baubles with Beyond Cozy on my ring finger. Nothing fancy but I love it!

I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I enjoyed creating it! What did you think of it? If you try it out please let me know in the comments below.
